PLEASE NOTE: This site is not fully indexed yet - so these searches will not work that well.

As this site grows, the more index & transcripts that I add - hopefully the easier it will be to search. Most of the pictures on this site currently does not have an index or label to say who is in the pictures - so of course will not show up in searches. As I work on the site, hopefully I will get more and more of that in place.

Follow Songer Cemetery Road past the cemetery west. The road will make a sharp turn south and on the east side of the road south (about 1 or 2 miles) you will see some head stones between the road and a fence. The last time I saw this was in 2007 and I have not been back to Ill. since. There was tractor tire imprints in the dirt and if memory still serves there was a large tree on the site but before you reach the fence. I think that I saw some inscriptions on one of the stones which may give you a clew who is there but I don't remember fully. If you do not know about this, check it out. Loral

You have done an excellent job with all of the photos in the cemeteries where my relatives are buried. I wish I had the time to come to Illinois myself to look through Pate and Oakridge cemeteries to find other grave locations of relatives that are said to be buried in these cemeteries!

Subject: Amos Wilson, Pate Cemetery

This is a great site. We visited the Pate Cemetery last summer and found the headstone of my Great-Great-Great Grandfather, Amos Wilson. His headstone is located on the old side of the cemetery and you have two pictures of it on your website. Do you know what the iron piece next to the headstone is? Also, we believe he was married to Sarah Pate on Sept. 14, 1856. The only headstone for a Sarah shows she was married to a man named Jones. I couldn't see another headstone with the name Sarah. Do you have any ideas on this?

Thanks for your help.

Subject: Amos & Sarah (Pate) Wilson

Amos & Sarah (Pate) Wilson are my great grandparents. I have been visiting Pate cemetery for years. My great, great grandfather, Robert Wilson is also buried there, as are my grandparents, Robert Lee & Clarissa (Stansbury) Wilson. My parents, Paul & Lethel (Johnson) Wilson are there now too. When I first started to research the Wilson side of our family several years ago, my father took me to Pate to show me where our ancestors were buried. I have not been able to confirm that Sarah Pate Wilson is buried there due to lost and incomplete cemetery records. Unfortunately, the stones in the old part of the cemetery have deteriorated over the years, and some have been moved, broken, or seperated from their bases. This new site with the great photo's will help many family researchers.
