Subject: Sarah Fleming of Cottage Grove Kansas

Hello - I was researching my ancestors, the Leavells, and see that a Sarah Fleming, widow of Eli Fleming, was living in Cottage Grove Kansas with Benjamin and Flora Markley Leavell and several of their family according to the 1885 Kansas Census - I'm not sure if there's a family connection between Sarah and the Leavell or not - can anyone shed any light on this?

Subject: Hannifords in Bethel cemetary?

Hello,
I am working on my husband's family history. I am wondering if all the gravestones are posted for Bethel cemetary near Attica, Indiana, on findagrave? It lists 334 headstones. An aunt just told us relatives by the name of HANNIFORD are buried in this cemetary. It really means a lot for us to find them. Who can I call to see if there is a list of people buried there? The death dates would be sometime betw. 1876-1880.

thanks

I have been looking for Mrs. Francis Dwight Yates for several years. Last known residence was Miami, Florida in 1925. She and her second husband lived in Orange County, Indiana for twenty-plus years.

Thanks for any help!!!

Subject: Seeking records and anything that might help me to connect the dots on the Fleming families of Elijah Fleming.

There are two Elijah Flemings; and maybe a third in Illinois and Indiana. They were all over that area since the early 1800s. I have some of the property record transactions, and some info, but I cannot connect by birth certificates, cemetery records, church records, wills or deaths, who belonged to whom. I am wandering around the countryside every couple of years in this search, and so far- nothing can connect me. There are a couple of old newspaper annouts of Elijah, but whether this was the one born in 1803 or 1830, and who the parents were is not listed anyplace. There are lots of possibilities, as in Warren County especially, in W. Lebanon there were Flemings everywhere underfoot for a while. But- where did they go? who was whose ? I can't tell. I have a cousin who has been given a shorter life time recently, and we are trying to find his and my history while he is here so that he can write his biography. If you have any photos, information or recommendations. Please let me know. Thank you.

Subject: Eli H. Fleming

This is in reply to your post of January 2010. I have researched whom I think may be one of the Eli/Elijah Fleming men you are asking about. Eli H. Fleming b. 1804 in KY of Parke County, IN shows up in Cottage Grove, Allen County, KS around 1859-60. Wife is Sarah (?) Fleming, children one older girl who did not travel to Kansas with them, James, Melinda, Margaret Sarah, Rosana (Fleming) Butler - married to Nathan Butler, Delilah (Fleming) Chambers married to William Chambers. Eli Fleming dies in 1876. If this is one of the Eli/Elijah Fleming fellows you are referring to, please contact me and share information. My connection, which so far no one has been able to prove, is that my GG Grandmother was a sister or cousin of Eli H. Fleming.
