Description: From a Sept 1, 1957 Commercial-News article: "Two brothers, Harrison and Seneca Stearns, came from Clinton County, Ohio in 1836 and settled near the site of the old cemetery. In 1852, a group of the early pioneers formed the Walker Point Baptist Church. Seneca donated the land to be used for the burying ground and his brother, Harrison, gave the land for the church. The old church was located just across the road from the cemetery. First person buried in the cemetery was Hanna Stearns, mother of Seneca & Harrison. The original grant of land was approximately 3 acres. Around 1950, Winfred LeFevre, who owned the land around the cemetery, died and did not have anyone to leave his land to - and he willed his land to the cemetery association. That land is used to farm and the proceeds are used to care for the old cemetery. This land has been divided into lots and as it is needed, parts are opened to burials." [again - article is from 1957]
Pictures: I took pictures of EVERY stone in this cemetery in September 2008.
