Cemetery Name: Ruckman Cemetery Location: Pilot Township, south of Potomac Approximate GPS Location: 40.24927 -87.79162 (link to Google Map) Description: Not much is known about Ruckman Cemetery, other then it was in Pilot Township and it was "bulldozed over". I've gotten a some more tips & information from a couple of people. It seems that the cemetery was bulldozed over in the late 1960's. Going East of 2600N (from Potomac-Collison Road), the cemetery would be on the North Side of the road behind the first farm house. Another person had let me know that in the early 1950's that they remember seeing at least one stone lying in a gully, as they knew the person who had bulldozed the cemetery - giving the same general location. I found the aerial photo of that area from the 1940's, and one little square of land could possible be the original location of the cemetery. (Marked on map with red circle & arrow) This square is no longer there in today's satellite pictures. I lived my whole life in Collison as did all of my grandparents, great-grandparents...never heard of this cemetery. More specific directions. I know all of the roads and farm ground there. Would be interested to hear more.

The info here on this site is correct about Ruckmans location and demise of being bulldozed over. I found a cemetery in the woods and was told by a local Collison gentleman I had found Ruckmans when in fact what I had found was the Old Collison cemetery. I apologized earlier for this mistake. Ruckman cemetery no longer exists.

I must apologize to everyone. I was told that I was at Ruckman but after investigating further I believe that I was at Old Collison cemetery.

I visited Ruckman cemetery today. Yes it does exist and has a beautiful wrought iron fence all around it with a walk in gate. E mail me to discuss this cemetery.
I am very interested in visiting the Ruckman Cemetery. It sound like there was some confusion on its location. Could you describe to me how to find it. I am not from the area so I would need pretty specific instructions. Thank you so much. Michelle
