Nathan Howard Plot - Vermilion County Illinois
Cemetery Name: Nathan Howard Plot
Location: Newell Township, East of Danville off Winter Ave.
GPS Location: 40.16140, -87.58840 (link to Google Map)
Description: Nathan Howard came to this area with his wife Nancy in 1824. When Nathan passed away in 1834, he wished to be buried on his homestead instead of the nearby Lamb Cemetery. His wife Nancy is said to also be buried next to him, but she either never had a stone, or it was destroyed long ago.
In 1957, The Commercial-News had an article about Lamb Cemetery and also included a picture of Nathan Howards headstone (scanned on this page), but when I visited in January 2012, all that could be found at that location is a footstone.
If anyone has additional information, or possible location of this stone today (heard the stone may have been moved?) - Please let me know.
Pictures: I took pictures of everything found in January 2012. Took 18 pictures, and also included a scan of the Commercial-News article with a picture of the stone from 1957. Also took 1 video linked below in January 2012.

Video: Below is a video taken January 2012. Please note: This video is NOT "professional" or to be used to read stones or anything like that.... this is simple to show a quick "overview" of the plot. For those who may never be able to visit this cemetery in person, this video is here to show a quick "overview" of the area.

That is really interesting, thanks for putting it online for everyone related. I wonder if he was related to Elkanah or John Howard? Elkanah had property in Indiana and Illinois in Vermillion County and moved to Vermillion County in 1829 with his wife Mary. Elkanah's father John Howard also had property in Vermillion Co. Illinois. They are bound to be related somehow.
