August 2008 update: More information soon.
Enoch Long and Almirs Sturdevant, pioneers in Watseka are buried in Pierce Cemetary. Enoch was a brother of my Gr,Gr, grandmother.buried at Mann's Chapel. They raised a large family there and most are buried in the GAR cemetary in Watseka. I have a 8x10 photo of a Long and family reunion at McFerren Park in Hoopston, Illinois. There are living descendents of that family that I correspond with. Have you updated any photos from this cemetery yet? I am waiting anxiously for the results as I have a gggrandmother buried there in August 1890, and I am looking for her spouse, probably buried in the same place - don't know when he died or where, but am hoping. Thanks for all your hard work!!! Pat If you are looking for someone buried in Floral Hill you might try findagrave.com They have a listing of all burials there, but they don't have pictures of the stones. If your looking for a photo of a head stone you might try the Chamber they maybe able to help Have you been able to take pictures there yet? Looking for Cyprian Sloan died 1926 and his wife Lola died 1978 she never remarried. I love your site, I know it is a LOT of hard work. Thanks for going above and beyond. Carol |
