EXPENSISE: Domain Name costs, web hosting cost, time spent working on website, time spent out taking pictures, car maintaince cost, and of course the gas cost to visit each cemetery sometimes multiple times to get pictures of every stone.

.... BUT, I want to keep this a hobby - I don't want to make money or anything from this site, so I've shrugged it off when the offer of help comes... if I were to start taking money, this might seem more like a job or obligation rather then a hobby.

So if you want to donate, I would like to point you to my local genealogical society:

Illiana Genealogical & Historical Society

They are the local non-profit oginization which has helped keep some of the cemeteries and records in tact, and they are always in need of donations to help. (SO IN SHORT - Don't donate to me - donate to the people who will help maintain some of the cemeteries & records of the area.)

Go ahead and send them a check. Check out their website, you could even become a member if you wanted.... which might help you with more genealogy help.

But one thing the site does not have is being able to accept online donations. Below you can donate money to myself - where in turn I will occasionally visit IGHS and drop the money in their "donate" jar they have sitting on their front desk. PLEASE NOTE: The button below will result in the money getting to the IGHS annoumously and quietly - I just drop it in the donate jar when I visit. If you want "credit" for donating, please visit their website and mail them a check through postal mail.

AGAIN - This donate button, the money GOES TO ME - NOT directly to IGHS.

I will in turn take what money is donated through the button, and the next time I'm at the IGHS, I will drop the money anounously in the "donate" jar they have sitting on their front desk. SO PLEASE - Do not use the donate button thinking it will go directly to the IGHS - I have no official place at the IGHS, I'm just a member. By using the donate button, that money goes DIRECTLY to me (again, which I will turn around and leave the same amount as a donation at the IGHS)

Subject: Have photos and info to donate to the site

Do you take donations of photos and corresponding info to your site? Mine is mostly all family members, but would be glad to share if you would tell me how I can do it. Both sides of my mother's and my husband's families came through Vermilion County, IL and some were firmly rooted in Warren Co., IN.
